 What are cookies?

A cookie is a file that is downloaded onto your computer when you access certain websites. Among other things, cookies allow the website to store and retrieve information regarding a user’s browsing habits and computer use. Depending on the information they contain and how they interact with the computer, cookies may also be used to identify the user.

What kinds of cookies do websites use?

Own cookies: These are sent to the user’s computer by a device or domain managed by the publisher of the website from which the service requested by the user is provided.

Third-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s computer by a device or domain that is not managed by the publisher of the website, but by another entity that processes the data obtained by the cookies.

Session cookies: These are designed to gather and store data while the user is accessing a website.

Persistent cookies: The data gathered by these cookies remains stored on the computer and may be accessed and processed for a certain period of time – ranging from minutes up to years – by the cookie manager.

Analytics cookies: SThese may be processed by us or by third parties and allow us to quantify the number of users, which in turn enables us to measure and statistically analyse the use that is made of the services we offer. Your browsing activities on our website are analysed so that we can improve the products and services we offer you.

Advertising cookies: These help optimise the management of any advertising spaces the publisher may have included on the website, application or platform that is providing the requested service. They operate on the basis of criteria such as the published content or the frequency with which advertisements are displayed.

Behavioural advertising cookies: SThese help optimise the management of any advertising spaces the publisher may have included on the website, application or platform that is providing the requested service. They store information on user behaviour obtained through continued observation of browsing habits, which enables the creation of a specific profile to which advertising can be tailored. Consequently, when a user visits a website or opens an e-mail containing an advertisement or promotion for our products or services, a cookie may be installed in their browser that subsequently allows us to display advertisements related to the search the user has conducted and monitor said advertising; e.g. to see how many times the advertisements are viewed, where they appear and at what time, etc.

How can I modify cookie settings?
